Our digestive system, gut, GIT – Gastro-Intestinal Tract, includes everything from the mouth right through to the anus. Considering most of us eat 3 solid meals a day, up to 3 snacks, 1.5ltr of water plus a few coffees with a total of almost 60+ ingredients, it’s not surprising that at one stage or other things haven’t felt quite right.

DIGESTIVE DISCOMFORT – BLOATING, CONSTIPATION, DIARRHOEA, AND BAD BREATH

Bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, bad breath and stomach pain are not uncommon. At one stage or another, most people have experienced these. Although common when it is occurring often it is unusual and often an indication something is amiss with the digestive system.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is marked by the abnormal function of the colon; abnormal motility, pain, diarrhea, constipation/hard stools and increased production of mucus. IBS had a large component linked to the brain and serotonin.

Treatment is more than just symptomatic relief of digestive complaints. But also addressing and treating the person holistically. IBS-like many digestive complaints respond well to Naturopathy herbal and nutritional treatment. INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE-ULCERATIVE COLITIS/CROHN’S DISEASE

Ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease (IBD) has a strong genetic component with chronic and painful symptoms. Patients can find the disease debilitating to live with, having an enormous impact on their physical and mental health as well as an effect on their social lives. If you’re working on adding greens to your diet I’ve found that smoothies and smoothie popsicles like this one are GREAT for starting out. Many wouldn’t touch a plateful of spinach but will happily enjoy it when it’s used to color a lime popsicle. Everyone expects a lime popsicle to be green, right? ⠀⠀
Ingredients:
⠀⠀
1 1/2 cups pineapple (fresh or frozen)
1/2 banana
3/4 cup coconut milk
1/2-1 cup spinach
Zest and juice of 1 lime
⠀⠀
Directions:
⠀⠀
Puree all ingredients in a blender until completely smooth. Pour into your favorite popsicle mold and freeze 3-4 hours, or until completely solid. Makes 5-6 popsicles. .

I rather this, as it keeps the fibrous parts/fiber in. 
With naturally occurring fruits it’s good to balance out the blood sugar with fiber. I find this keeps my body happier than a juice. I also add cinnamon and hemp oil as well. ⠀⠀
What are you sneaky smoothie additions? Macca powder? Açaí? Spirilina? Almond meal? Matcha?
