Functional pathology tests are used to investigate functional, biochemical, nutritional, metabolic and hormonal status*. The results assist practitioners in the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients seeking a holistic approach to health.

Hormone Testing

Provides us with valuable information on your hormonal status. Hormonal changes can have a dramatic impact on physical and emotional health. Results obtained from this test make it possible to individualise treatment to establish optimal hormonal balance.

The main hormones we often investigate include the adrenal hormones (cortisol, cortisone and DHEA) thyroid hormones and the sex hormones. However, in some cases, we also investigate insulin, growth hormone, leptin and ghrelin.

There is no one perfect test to understand all hormones within the body. The best way to get your hormones tested really depends on which hormone you are looking at. Tests will analysis either blood, urine or saliva, each test has its advantages and disadvantages.

Complete Digestive Stool Analysis

Provides an overview of the components of digestion, absorption, intestinal function and microbial flora (good and bad bacteria). Extremely insightful test for anyone with digestive or intestinal problems. A comprehensive report with graphs and recommendations is provided.

Food and Chemical Sensitivity – ALCAT testing

Is your environment or foods you consume making you sick? Intolerances/Sensitivities to foods + food additives + food chemicals + environmental chemicals + herbs/dietary supplements + moulds can cause a wide range of symptoms and disorders. The ALCAT® diagnostic system detects changes in the size and number of leucocytes (i.e. immune cells) in response to exposure to the offending foods, chemicals, additives, herbs, and molds.
A significant advantage of this system is that it uses whole blood which contains all of the immune factors, cells and serum proteins that might be involved in an adverse reaction to food, chemicals, and molds.

If you’re working on adding greens to your diet I’ve found that smoothies and smoothie popsicles like this one are GREAT for starting out. Many wouldn’t touch a plateful of spinach but will happily enjoy it when it’s used to color a lime popsicle. Everyone expects a lime popsicle to be green, right? ⠀⠀
Ingredients:
⠀⠀
1 1/2 cups pineapple (fresh or frozen)
1/2 banana
3/4 cup coconut milk
1/2-1 cup spinach
Zest and juice of 1 lime
⠀⠀
Directions:
⠀⠀
Puree all ingredients in a blender until completely smooth. Pour into your favorite popsicle mold and freeze 3-4 hours, or until completely solid. Makes 5-6 popsicles. .

I rather this, as it keeps the fibrous parts/fiber in. 
With naturally occurring fruits it’s good to balance out the blood sugar with fiber. I find this keeps my body happier than a juice. I also add cinnamon and hemp oil as well. ⠀⠀
